Mission
In 2017 my friends at the metal band Magec told me that the artist working on their artwork had suddenly closed his shop and wasn’t going to finish the work of their first album, leaving them hanging close to the release date with just the cover art. Even though graphic design and artwork illustration are not my fields of expertise, I was their only option in such short time, so I got on with it.
As a web designer I already knew my way around rasterized graphic editors like PhotoShop and GIMP, which I’ve been using for simpler things for years, but in a very short time window I had to learn a whole new skill set to be able to translate the ideas of this conceptual album into a printable artwork.
